#Ubuntu nvidia geforce go 7300 driver
While I won't really argue on the extensions because you're correct (and I do have to operate under some generalizations on my part because I'm by no means an expert on OpenGl specifications or implementations), I will point out that I think the OpenGl string version (which is listed as 2.1.2 for mine as well) is probably not the level of actual OpenGl support, but some sort of version string for the driver or something. In the end it's all the same problem either way. The reason I say that is because there are two other version values (server and client I think it was) that both list themselves as 1.4, and also, the 7xxx cards are only registered as supporting up to version 2.0 in hardware. Might be good to rename the thread to something more along the lines of reporting a known problem now that everyone has confirmed this and the cause has been explained in the discussion, or create a new thread somewhere appropriate that directly states the issue and the I won't really argue on the extensions because you're correct (and I do have to operate under some generalizations on my part because I'm by no means an expert on OpenGl specifications or implementations), I will point out that I think the OpenGl string version (which is listed as 2.1.2 for mine as well) is probably not the level of actual OpenGl support, but some sort of version string for the driver or something. But OpenGL 2.0 is required for this extension, so you're not completely off.Īlso, I'm pretty sure 304 supports 2.0, because my 7400 Go with the 304.51 driver shows its OpenGL version as 2.1.2. So even if your card supports OpenGL 2.0 and above, it might not have this extension particular implemented and hence would face the same problem. It's about a specific extension (GL_EXT_draw_buffers2) which must be supported by the GPU and its driver. Other users have reported that TF2 is dependant on OpenGl 1.5, and the Linux driver (as of experimental 304) seems to only support version 1.4, though all of the 7xxx cards are supposed to support up to OpenGl 2.0 in hardware, according to most, if not all, databases I've checked.

If anyone with one of these cards has access to a Windows installation on the same box, would you care to get the supported OpenGl version of the Windows driver?
